Red Roof Inn PLUS+ Washington DC - Alexandria

The Indian man at the front desk was so nice and checked me in promptly. The room was clean, but sadly it had a faint smell of cigarette smoke when I first arrived. The smell soon dissipated after turning on the AC fan. This motel is non-smoking inside the room, but guests are allowed to smoke outside, and I walked past a few individuals who were smoking on the balcony outside the motel room doors. As for noise, I heard some music and people talking on the balconies, but the motel neighbors were respectful and turned the noise off at around 10 pm. There is elevator access which is a plus for older knees. Overall, it was a nice room, clean, stocked with towels, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, etc. There was plenty of hot water with excellent water pressure! Having a fridge and microwave is a nice feature too. I guess I turned the fridge up too high because it made my water container freeze! The tv is a flat screen with plenty of HBO channels. The location is great - only 1/2 mile distance from the last stop on the yellow subway line, Huntington Ave Station. The walk there is easy and safe. I also drove my car there and parked all day for a fee of $8.95. I could have gotten the parking day fee for only $4.95 if only I had asked the subway attendant behind the counter because I bought a 3 day unlimited metro pass which can be combined and can also be used on all the busses in the city.

The location was perfect for access to the metro. The staff was polite and professional. The room was clean and good sized. Good deal for the money for sure! Having a fridge and microwave made up for no breakfast. Easy enough to bring our own breakfast foods. More then accommodating about having a rented mobility scooter dropped off day early and left sitting in the lobby for 36 hours, also allowed us to leave it there when we departed for the rental company to come pick up.

My expectations were surely exceeded. Based on the reviews that I had read previously before the trip I was not expecting much much but the staff were friendly, kind, and respectful the facilities were clean and comfortable and the location was nothing short of stellar being only 3 minutes away from a train station and 20 from down town. The price was extraordinarily fair and if I ever am back in the area again I will definitely be giving this property another stay. The parking situation was excellent as well as safe I had no fear that my car was going to be burglarized during my stay. The AC blue cold and the water was hot and had excellent pressure the beds were neat and clean as were is lean as were the restroom and bath amenities. My room included a safe fridge TV as well as a desk. And the Wi-Fi was excellent. I definitely recommend this hotel as you definitely get your Bang for your buck and a little more!
